The Painbow box set consists of 12 albums which were all mixed, mastered and released over the course of 2022. Four of the albums are brand new material, four of them are solo albums from the 2000s and four of them are Dufus live and outtake albums compiled from 1997 into the mid-2000s.
This was a huge project, listening through hundreds of old tapes, CDs and digital files collected from Seth's prolific and disorganized vaults. They're all put together in a big pile and fastened into an exterior cover by velcro. The cover design "This Rainbow Hurts" comes from the Dufus album "Ball of Design" which came out on ROIR in 2004. Tons of people liked the design so we thought to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Dufus we would make the box set and new T-shirt design to go with it!
